Relief Without Surgery

Relief Without Surgery
February 26, 2021EducationUncategorizedUsefull info Links

At Warner Orthopedics & Wellness, we offer a variety of surgery-free options for pain relief and healing. While we do offer surgery for those who need it, we take a different approach for your recovery – we offer non-surgical methods first, to give you a chance at an effective solution without invasive methods.

Here’s what we offer:

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy can involve many different types of procedures and methods, all designed to help restore function, enhance mobility, and relieve pain and inflammation. Physical therapy is often one of the most effective measures of treating pain without surgery.

The human body is essentially a biological machine; if it is possible to correct the biomechanics this is often the best way to alleviate pain. Our physical therapists are masters at this task.

Manual Therapy  is a form of physical therapy that involves the therapist placing pressure on muscles and manipulating joints to relieve pain, decrease muscle spasms and tension, and more. It is especially helpful for those experiencing back pain.

By utilizing a deep understanding of the anatomy of muscles, fascia, fascial trains and overall functional units, our team of therapists can give you the relief you have been needing.

Dry needling involves thin needles being inserted into specific muscle groups to release tension, perform deep massage, and promote healing. The focus of dry needling is centered on targeting trigger points. A “trigger point” is a taut band of skeletal muscle located within a larger muscle group that is often tender to the touch. This is a dysfunctional and pathologically contractile unit of muscle and should be addressed so that the rest of the functional unit of muscle, bone and connective tissue can be treated as well.

When you undergo a dry needling procedure, this tension and pain is released, allowing for better movement and reducing pain. Dry needling has been massively effective for the very common aches and pains around the spinal column. We have developed many protocols and algorithms using this highly effective technique for a variety of problems in all areas of anatomy.

A TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) machine is used as an alternative to painkillers. It sends small electrical pulses through the skin to the peripheral nerves in the painful part of the body. These electrical signals are thought to affect the way pain signals are sent to the brain via nerves.

It is also thought to stimulate the body to make its own pain-relieving chemicals – called endorphins. This is a portable device that is non-addictive.

Orthopedic Footwear & Devices

We offer a variety of specialized orthopedic footwear in our clinic. Custom insoles, braces, and more can greatly improve mobility and promote healing and pain relief.

“Fixing” devices are designed to either partially or completely restrict joint movement for healing. “Relieving” devices help relieve pressure and pain by transferring “load” elsewhere on the affected limb. “Corrective” devices, like splints and certain insoles are designed to gradually correct a deformity over time.

PRP & Stem Cell Therapy

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy involves harvesting PRP from your own blood. In Platelet Rich Plasma therapy the platelets are extracted and then concentrated from the patients’ own blood; it is then injected into the site of an injury and used to relieve damaged tendons, muscle, fascia or cartilage.

PRP therapy works because it uses one of the most essential parts of the body’s healing process in a high concentration, to improve healing and make injuries recovery faster, better and safer.

Stem Cell Therapy (adult cells only): During stem cell therapy, a medical professional will inject stem cells into your body at the site of injury. Before the procedure, the cells are only minimally manipulated to preserve their integrity and maintain their ability to promote biologic and host regenerative abilities.

Once injected, the cells will go to work helping your own body in repairing damaged tissues. Stem cells are thought to accelerate the natural healing process. It is believed that stem cells allow for healing tissue that would have otherwise remained damaged.

If you’re looking for a non-surgical means of relieving your pain or healing an injury, make your appointment today! If you have been referred for surgery and want a second opinion to reevaluate what your options are, we are happy to explore every avenue of healing available to you.
