What You Need To Know About Plantar Fasciitis

What You Need To Know About Plantar Fasciitis
March 22, 2021EducationUncategorizedUsefull info Links

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. Plantar fasciitis is the technical term for inflammation of the thick band of tissue (fascia) that runs across the bottom of your foot. This is what connects your heel to your toe, and assists in supporting the arch.

If you’re experiencing pain in your arch or heel, keep reading to learn if what you’re experiencing is plantar fasciitis.

What Causes Plantar Fasciitis

Your fascia supports the arch of your foot. When it’s stretched beyond its breaking point, you can get tiny tears on the fascia surface – and this is what causes pain and inflammation. There are some risk factors of getting plantar fascia, like:

  • If you’re female
  • If you’re 40-60 years old
  • If you’re overweight
  • If you have flat feet – or high arches
  • If your Achilles tendon is tight
  • If you wear unsupportive shoes
  • If you run regularly

Treating Plantar Fasciitis

Thankfully, most cases of plantar fasciitis can be effectively treated without harsh medical interventions. Resting and icing the affected foot, and pairing this treatment with anti-inflammatories, is usually effective for most cases of plantar fasciitis.

Plantar fasciitis pain can be excruciating and make the first steps of your day nearly unbearable.

With natural supplementation, daily stretching, and healthy lifestyle choices, you can take back your joy from plantar fasciitis pain!
