Integrative Health: Our Unique Treatment Methodology

In our wellness clinic in the heart of Baton Rouge, we take a unique approach to promoting healing and wellness for our patients.
Here’s what you can expect from a visit:
What Is Functional Orthopedic Medicine?
In our clinic, we practice something known as “functional medicine.” This is a term that describes our goal with each and every patient that walks through our clinic doors. This methodology seeks to understand the root cause of pain, disease, or dysfunction – to truly address the issue.
For age-management, or optimal aging, movement and function are critical.
Many doctors are trained to simply treat pain, or address symptoms instead of taking a more well-rounded approach that looks at the patients’ lifestyle habits – including diet, stress levels, mental wellness, how many hours of sleep or exercise they’re getting each day, etc.
As you have probably experienced, most doctors (especially surgeons) treat people as simple body parts with no connection to the remaining body. In other words, generally you are viewed as a ‘knee’ or a ‘shoulder’ or a ‘foot’.
At Warner Orthopedics & Wellness, our goal is to help you identify and take charge of the factors you can change in your daily habits, to optimize your well-being, improve your mobility, and give you the tools you need to curate the lifestyle you deserve.
We consider and analyze the whole person and the interconnections throughout the body and mind that make each of us unique and yet also could be modified to improve function and reduce pain.
What Is Integrative Health?
Our physicians believe that the best way to help our patients reach their health goals is to use the “best of both worlds.” We offer natural treatments like acupuncture, medical yoga, IV infusion treatments, recommendations for diet plans and supplements, and more. We understand that you are more than a collection of body parts.
But alongside this, we offer more “traditional” modes of treatment, which include pain-relieving and regenerative injections, physical therapy, pharmaceuticals, and even surgery. We are surgeons at the end of the day and have a deep understanding of traditional Western medicinal approaches to pain and functional issues.
However, in order to optimize outcomes and produce amazing results for age management, we have learned to bring in a more holistic approach to your care.
“Integrative health” uses the tools of modern medicine alongside “alternative” approaches, such as acupuncture, massage, physical therapy, herbal and supplemental remedies, infrared therapy and more in an effort to promote total, well-coordinated care for each patient on an individual basis.
Total Wellness – Under One Roof
Dr. Meredith Warner founded her clinic and with it her vision for helping people age optimally – this means with less pain and more function. This is the so-called ‘healthspan’. A lifespan is simply the number of years one lives.
A healthspan is the number of good and functional years one enjoys. She considers the patient’s lifestyle, mental and physical conditions when offering her patients a treatment and lifestyle plan.
Dr. Warner strongly believes that our healthspans could be dramatically increased with proper education and care.
Our team of physicians & physical therapists work together to improve your ability to restore function, reduce pain levels, and treat multiple conditions that affect the brain, nerves, spine, bones, muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons.
We specialize in movement, anti-inflammatory, skin health, immune health, strength, and treating pain (in a healthy way.) We have a deep and special interest in the care of diabetes and its complications.
Additionally, we are able to assist with weight loss as well. All of this lets us help you age optimally, enjoy life, avoid doctors, avoid medications, be active, and look and feel good.
