Dr. Meredith Warner
BOARD CERTIFIED ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON
At Warner Orthopedics & Wellness, we offer comprehensive care for Hallux Limitus and Hallux Rigidus, including Cartiva surgery. “Hallux” is the medical term for the big toe, with limitus and rigidus defining different stages of osteoarthritis in the big toe joint. Hallux limitus refers to a decline in the range of motion in the first metatarsophalangeal joint found at the base of the big toe.
During later stages, the condition will progress to Hallux rigidus, a state where there is little to no motion in the joint. Pain, stiffness, swelling or inflammation in your big toe could be a symptom of either of these conditions. Without medical attention, Hallux limitus will advance and increase in severity, resulting in a drastic decline in motion and increased pain.
The Cartiva procedure releases the damaged ligaments in the big toe and replaces the damaged joint with an FDA approved cartilage replacement system. Cartiva offers you the opportunity to eliminate joint pain without sacrificing your foot’s natural movement.
Warner Orthopedics & Wellness proudly serves the Baton Rouge area, providing treatment for Hallux Limitus and Hallux Rigidus.
Dr. Meredith Warner uses the Cartiva Procedure, a procedure derived from the largest comprehensive study ever conducted for the treatment of osteoarthritis in the big toe joint.
